DWC now offers free continuing education (CE) credit for workers' compensation system participants through our CompCourses webinar series. These one-hour webinars feature topics such as return to work, dispute resolution, and workplace safety.

See each course description for what types of credits the course offers, such as Texas CLE credit for attorneys, Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) continuing education credit for adjusters, SHRM credit for human resource professionals, and CDMS and CCM credits for rehabilitation providers. You may use your certificate of attendance to apply for other professional disciplines as well.

Note: CompCourses include a 45-minute presentation followed by 15 minutes of Q&A. You must be present for the entire webinar, including the Q&A to receive one hour of general education credit from TDI.

Health care provider roles in the Texas workers' compensation system

Date: August 20, 2025

Description: This webinar will outline the different types of health care providers in the Texas workers' compensation system, including treating doctors, designated doctors, referral doctors, consulting doctors, required medical exam doctors, and peer or utilization review doctors. Attendees will learn how these doctor roles work in the overall system and what their responsibilities are.

FAQ

When will the recording and presentation be made available after the live webinar?

Please allow several days for the webinar recording and presentation to be added to DWC’s CompCourses webpage.

How do I get CE credit for attending a CompCourses webinar?

Make sure to register for the CompCourses webinar you’d like to attend and include your license number on the registration form. After the webinar, DWC staff will send the roster of attendees who were present for the entire webinar and Q&A to the appropriate credentialing agencies. Please allow several weeks for your credit to be processed.

I attended the live webinar but haven’t received my CE credit. What do I do?

It may take a few weeks for your CompCourses CE credit to be reflected with each credentialing agency. If you still don’t see your CE credit, please contact DWCEvents@tdi.texas.gov and we will help you.

Can I get CE credit from other credentialing agencies?

Currently DWC’s CompCourses webinar series offers general education credit from TDI as well as a few other credentialing agencies when applicable. You may apply for credit with other credentialing agencies of your choice using the follow-up email you receive after the webinar as proof of attendance. If you have additional questions, contact DWCEvents@tdi.texas.gov and we can help you.

I couldn’t attend the live webinar. Can I still get CE credit?

Unfortunately, we can only offer CE credit during the live webinar. Sign up for DWC’s meetings and events mailing list to be notified of our next CE credit opportunity. You may also watch any of our past CompCourses webinars on our YouTube channel.
